And friends of any status are never above a friendly prank now and then.

It wasn't always peaches and cream between the two, though.

Back in the '80s and '90s, Arnold and Sly were competing for similar roles with one another because they were both the biggest action stars of the time.  It was this rivalry that led Stallone to taking one of the biggest regrets of his career: Stop!  Or My Mom Will Shoot.

Sly told the Hollywood Reporter, "I had heard Schwarzenegger was going to do that movie and I said, 'I'm going to beat him to it.'

"I think he set me up."

After all this time, Arnold admitted that yes, he did trick Sly into accepting the role.

Arnold told the magazine, "It's 100 percent true.

"In those days we did all kinds of crazy things to get ahead in our rivalry. Luckily for us and everyone else, today, we root for each other. Thank God, because we sure don't ever need another Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.

Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot was an absolute bomb at the box office, and has a 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.  Critic Roger Ebert called it "utterly lacking in even the smallest morsel of redeeming value."

Nowadays, the two have put aside their once rivalry and are the best of friends, with Sly calling Arnold "very wise."

"I told him: 'We are the last two tyrannosaurus,'" Stallone said. "We're the last two meat eaters, and there's not much beef left out there. So we better enjoy each other."
