Scrabble brings out the professional linguist in everybody.

Experienced players always have a dictionary handy in case a word seems suspect, and we imagine this new change will result in a lot of frustrated players.

Scrabble just announced they are adding several new slang words to the game, including, but not limited to, the words yeet, amirite, stan, boujee, and bacne.

Yeet means to throw something, amirite is a condensed version of "am I right?," to stan means to obsess over someone famous, boujee means something fancy or luxurious, and bacne is shorthand for back acne.

We can imagine that anyone who uses these words does not play physical board games anymore, let alone gathers around for a nice game of Scrabble.

According to the NY Post, Scrabble says these new words will be officially added to the game on January 1, so all you old folks who enjoy the game still have some time to catch up on your Gen Z slang.
