Cameo is all the rage, and with social distancing it's a great way to send someone a message from their favorite celebrity. The custom videos range from creepy birthday wishes from The Undertaker to joyous congratulations from RuPaul's Drag Race alum Jackie Cox to scathing Bruce Buffer break-ups.
Today's adorable memory comes courtesy of Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Smokey Robinson. Jeff Jacobson and his brother wanted the 80-year-old music icon to wish their mother a Happy Chanukah. Smokey made the sweetest, most wholesome video with a lasting impression. In the message, he charismatically tells Mama Jacobson to enjoy "Chuh-NOO-kuh".
Jacobson posted the endearing message to Twitter, and the internet was instantly charmed by Smokey's lovable mishap. Even celebrities started re-posting their adoration for the Motown legend. Once Smokey learned of the mispronunciation, he offered to make his fan another personalized video.
Naturally, the Jacobsons were perfectly content with the original version. I'm sure they will be telling this story for years to come.
