Britney Spears is very active on Instagram, but it's not unlike her to completely disappear from the social media platform from time to time, though.

Still, this latest disappearance online caused some fans to grow so concerned, they called the police to perform a wellness check on the singer.

According to TMZ, it was around 11PM Tuesday night when the Ventura Co. Sheriff's Office started receiving calls about Britney Spears deleting her Instagram account.

Authorities went to her home out of an "abundance of caution."  It is unclear if the police spoke to Spears directly or if someone else assured them Spears was ok, but the authorities "determined there was no reason to believe she was in danger."

On Thursday, Spears posted a note on her Twitter account, speaking on fans calling the police to perform a wellness check calling it an "invasion of privacy."

Is it about time we just "leave Britney alone?"
