Another State Fair of Texas has come and gone, and even with the fair's 2.3 million visitors this year, believe it or not there's a TON of leftover food.
As has been the case over the last few years, the State Fair once again has donated its remaining and leftover food to North Texas families in need.
Fair vendors brought their food to Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center, where from there it will be distributed to North Texas food pantries and shelters.
Karissa Condoianis, a spokeswoman for the State Fair of Texas said per KRLD 1080, "We have nine community organizations coming today to pick up this food in order to help serve in our community as early as this evening.
"Our community comes and support us all during the fair and all of our small business owners out here and this is just one way we can help give back to the community that does so much for us."
