Stephen King is often regarded as having the scariest novels of all time, and the 75-year-old recently revealed that he put a scare into his own marriage with his obsession over the unlikeliest of sources.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, King admitted that he played Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5” so much, his wife once threatened to leave him over it.

The King of Horror revealed, “I had the dance mix.  I loved those extended play things, and I played both sides of it.  And one of them was just total instrumental.  And I played that thing until my wife just said, 'One more time, and I'm going to [effing] leave you.'"

As far as King recalled, he was listening to the song while working on his 2011 novel, 11/22/63.

King explained that he likes to listen to instrumental stuff while he's writing because listening to a song with lyrics can be a challenge.

He said, "If you tried to write and listen to Leonard Cohen, how the [eff] would you do that?  Because you'd have to listen to the words and you'd have to listen to what he's saying.”
