Homeowners have begun referring to him only as "Edward Scissorhands."
This mystery man in Fort Worth has been caught several times on surveillance video trimming trees in front of houses in the middle of the night.
The stranger is usually out around 3am, and seems to always be accompanied by a dog, but nobody knows who he is.
Jerry Balkenbush told CBS News, "I was talking to my wife Emily and I was like, 'Hey, we had a storm last night,' and she was like, 'Oh no, that's Edward Scissorhands."
Unfortunately, some folks in the neighborhood wished Edward Scissorhands would stop.
Sometimes, he is prone to trimming too much off the trees, in which the homeowner becomes liable.
Ashley Thomann told CBS, "Sometimes he'll just take a little bit, but then in other people's trees he'll take massive gobs. If something happens to the tree, everybody is paying hundreds of dollars per tree to replace them."
Plus, there's an issue of safety. "We also don't want someone to get hurt," she added.
Police reports have been filed on the man.
"There are some investigators working on it from what we understand," Balkenbush said.
