Bring your child to work day has been a tradition old as time. More often than not though, the kid brings things to occupy their time. Maybe a book or an iPad.
This surgeon in Austria brought his daughter to work one day, and decided now was the time for her to get some real-world experience on what it takes to perform a surgery.
A 33-year-old man had to be rushed to Graz University Hospital in Graz, Austria after suffering a forestry accident, and this surgeon allowed his teenaged daughter to drill into his skull during the procedure!
Amazingly, the surgery was a success and the patient made it out ok, but someone filed an anonymous complaint which brought this information to light.
According to VICE, the surgeon and another specialist involved in the procedure have been fired, and five other individuals are currently under investigation.
According to the patient's lawyer, the hospital hasn't even issued an apology or an explanation of how this could have happened.
