A teenager is furious after a potentially fun outing with her dad's new girlfriend turned out to be "horrible."
She posted her tale in Reddit's "Am I The A******" forum, explaining gave his new girlfriend, $300 to spend on their day, and the girlfriend used every cent on thigns for her own daughter and not the teen.
The teen wrote the girlfriend bought things like "clothes, makeup, and other stuff I don't remember," and at the end of the day at Starbucks, bought cake pops and a drink for her own daughter, but when the teen inquired about getting something for herself was told she "ran out of money."
The stepmother says she treated her daughter to an incredible day out as a reward for passing a big math test. Even when the teen asked for one of the multiple cake pops that were purchased, she was told that "it was her daughter's treat for hard work and it would be wrong for me to take one since 'I didn't do anything that deserved being rewarded."
Further, when asked by her dad how their day went, new girlfriend got mad at the teen's explanation.
The teen wrote, "I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty upset. When we got back home my dad saw their drinks and asked where mine was. I told him that 'I wasn't allowed to get one cause I don't deserve it'. His gf got upset and said I was twisting her words and the daughter just said I was being greedy and was jealous of her. I know I'm not entitled to a drink or a cakepop but I also don't think it's wrong to be a little annoyed."
So was this teen in the wrong for exposing his dad's new girlfriend like that? Did she really twist the girlfriend's words around like she said?
Most people on Reddit said there was absolutely nothing wrong with what the teen did.
One person wrote, "Don't be fooled, everything she did was intentional." Another added, "I hope he's reconsidering the relationship. His girlfriend sounds horrible and selfish. " And another said, "Mistreating the kid of your partner is cruel."
