The Waterline will not only look over downtown Austin, but also the entire Lone Star State.
The 74 story, 1,022 feet tall building broke ground in the Rainey Street district yesterday, and upon its completion, will become the new tallest building in Texas, surpassing the Chase building in Houston by 20 feet.
The project is part of a partnership between Lincoln Property Company (LPC) and Kairoi Residential.
Company executive Seth Johnson said per Fox 4, "Waterline marks a new milestone for Downtown not only because of its height, but also because of the positive impact this project will have on improving connectivity, enhancing public amenities, and attracting more people to this beautiful area of downtown."
The high-rise is located at 98 Red River, across from the popular BBQ spot, Iron Works.
It is expected to be completed by 2026.
