Almost 40 years after the original, the sequel to “A Christmas Story” gets a release date

Last January, there were reports that a sequel to the beloved 1983 classic A Christmas Story was in the works, with Peter Billingsley set to return as Ralphie.

Well not only were those reports confirmed, we now have a release date!

According to DeadlineA Christmas Story Christmas is set to premiere on HBO Max November 17th.

The plot will follow an adult Ralphie as he returns to his home on Cleveland Street to bring his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had from his childhood.

Not only will Billingsley be back as Ralphie, but several other actors from the original film will be reprising their roles as well, including Ian Petrella who played Ralphie’s younger brother Randy, Zack Ward as bully Scut Farkus, Scott Schwartz as Flick, and R.D. Robb as Schwartz.
