As of now, a Change.org petition has garnered over 90,000 signatures to make sure Bezos never returns, with the petition reading "Billionaire's should not exist…on earth, or in space, but should they decide the latter they should stay there."
The Amazon founder said in an Instagram video posted earlier this month "Ever since I was five years old, I've dreamed of traveling to space. On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend."
According to Complex, Bezos will relinquish his title as the CEO of Amazon to Andy Jassy just 15 days before he heads to space. According to Bezos, July 5 was selected for this handoff to coincide with the 27th anniversary of Amazon's incorporation.
