To deter the amount of shoplifting, TJX, the parent company of stores TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods announced they will be equipping their retail security workers with police-like body cameras at their stores across the country.

TJX finance chief John Klinger said during an earnings call last month “It’s almost like a de-escalation, where people are less likely to do something when they’re being videotaped.”

TJX might just be the first company to arm its employees with body cams.

According to CNN, 35% of US retailers said they were researching body cameras for employees.
