Lock Samples is a 16-month-old from Roswell, Georgia with a very rare, unique condition. It's so rare, only about 100 known cases of it exist...in the WORLD.
Doctors call it "uncombable hair syndrome."
Lock's mom Katelyn just couldn't understand why the boy's hair just wouldn't go down. And she had no idea until someone messaged her on Instagram.
She told FOX 5 in Atlanta, "I got nervous because I'd never heard of it before." She Googled the condition, and called her pediatrician. "And, they were like, 'We know Lock, and we know his hair, but we can't really help you here, so we're going to send you to directly to a specialist,'" she said.
Every strand of Lock's hair like a triangle shape and twisted, and Katelyn can't put any gel or styling products on it because its so fine, it would break.
And though doctors say Lock's hair may correct itself by puberty, Katelyn and her husband Caleb say it wouldn't matter if it didn't. "I love it," she says. "We're so proud of it. I think it's cool to have something that lets you stand out. "We really consider it a blessing."
