It is the end of an era for your Texas Rangers.

After 55 years with the organization, with the last 28 spent in the broadcast booth, Tom Grieve is retiring from the game.

Grieve has done everything with the organization, first as a player, then an executive, and almost three decades as a broadcaster.

Former Rangers managing partner Tom Schieffer told Dallas News, "He is as big a fan as [fans] are.

"He has huge respect for the game itself," Schieffer added. "It may seem old-fashioned, but it's something we could use more. He's just a great example all of us should follow. I mean, who doesn't like Tom Grieve?"

Grieve spent more time in the Rangers booth with Josh Lewin (2002-2010) more than any other broadcast partner.

Lewin said of his retiring colleague, "He made it so ridiculously easy because he had no ego," Lewin said. "He was so accommodating. I was a bull in a china shop, and he was the kindly uncle I didn't know I needed. He showed me what it was like to man up."

Since 2017, Grieve has split broadcasting duties with Dave Raymond.  He will be in the booth for the Rangers final four games of the season against the New York Yankees October 3-5.
