You know, it really sucks getting in trouble for just doing your job.
A reality television star who has based his entire career and livelihood on making moonshine was recently arrested in Alabama….for making moonshine.
Back in 2020, Johnny Wayne Griffis placed second in a reality television show called Moonshiners: Master Distiller. He was able to levy that success into his own show called Alabama Shine, that premiered on The Country Network last month.
In one of the first episodes of the series, Griffis talked about evading law enforcement, which caught the attention of police in Flomaton, Alabama, who decided to look into Griffis' escapades.
He was in the middle of making a new batch of moonshine this past Monday when police raided his property, and placed him under arrest.
According to WEAR-TV, the 49-year-old is facing charges of distillation, the manufacture of prohibited liquors and beverages, and a class C misdemeanor of sale, offer for sale, possession or barter of prohibited liquors and beverages.
If convicted, Griffis faces one to five years in prison.
