There are too many stupid criminals and just not enough time to go around.
A couple of guys in Oregon shoplifted a ton of merchandise from a Kohl's store last week. 41-year-old Raymond Allen Stavig and 27-year-old Derek Richard Benjamin Shurts bolted out of the establishment to their getaway car, which unfortunately for them, had a dead battery.
Even more unfortunate, NOBODY would give their dead car a jump, so they were just stuck waiting for the police to arrive. Inside the car, police found found bags of clothing from other stores, laptops, phones, stolen credit cards, Oregon ID cards, a magnetic card reader/writer, and counterfeit cash and drugs, among other things.
Even further, Stavig tried to convince the cops that everything in the vehicle actually belonged to his wife!
Both men were arrested and are facing a multitude of charges.
Stavig is facing charges of identity theft, theft, possession of methamphetamine and a warrant for aggravated ID theft. Shurts is looking at charges of possession of a forged instrument, theft, and a warrant for heroin possession.
