The Queen's funeral was no doubt the most-watched program around the world yesterday, that is of course except for a television channel in the UK of all places!
In place of the funeral, Channel 5 in Britain instead aired a replay of The Emoji Movie!
According to EW, Channel 5 had a slate of programming they wanted to air for children. Following The Emoji Movie were replays of the films Stuart Little, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and Sing.
To their credit, the day of the funeral was a national holiday/day of mourning in the United Kingdom, so it makes sense that someone would want to give a viewing option to children home from school.
The Emoji Movie, released in 2017, was not well-received by critics, and boasts a 6% score on Rotten Tomatoes and was named the worst picture of the year at the 2018 Razzie Awards.
