In case you haven't looked at a calendar yet in 2023, tomorrow is Friday the 13th!

We're all aware of some of the more common superstitions we should all avoid doing (walking under a ladder; breaking a mirror), but what about the more uncommon superstitions?  You need to be aware of those, too!

Believe it or not, a ton of bad things have actually happened on Friday the 13th!

According to Romper.com, hundreds of the Knights Templar were arrested by King Philip IV of France on Friday, Oct. 13, 1307, and many members of the group were then imprisoned and executed so King Philip could gain access to their riches.

Many believe this event could be where the legendary date's unluckiness stems from.

Since then, the bombing of Buckingham Palace in 1940, a destructive cyclone in Bangladesh in 1970, and rapper Tupac Shakur's death in 1996 all occurred on Friday the 13th!

So what are some of the more uncommon superstitions you need to avoid doing, especially tomorrow?

Getting a haircut – Some believe this could lead to the death of a family member
Crossing your eyes – Some believe they could get stuck that way
Holding your hands under a full moon – Some legends say this could lead to distrust
Eating a jawbreaker – This choking hazard is apparently especially hazardous on Friday the 13th
Staring at an owl through a window – Some believe this is a sign that death looms nearby

Happy Friday the 13th!
