Near the beginning of the month, we received an email from a woman named Sherry who was concerned about a Spring Break trip her daughter was invited on.
Sherry had some reservations because she was worried that her daughter and friend would be sleeping in a separate condo, and when her daughter has hung out with that family in the past, some drinking has been involved.
Well, Sherry decided to let her daughter go, but she decided to go along as well!
She booked a room with another girlfriend near her daughter in order to keep an eye on everyone. And...she was pleasantly surprised!
Even though her friend's family drunk a little, her daughter didn't at all. And they were safe the entire time! They just went to the beach every day.
And Sherry had a conversation with the other mother before she decided to head out to the beach herself, and the other mother told Sherry that that more than anything, she did NOT want anything to happen to the kids "on her watch."
However, Sherry still wasn't 100% convinced of her daughter's safety, and decided to go on the beach trip with her. She stayed near her daughter, not in the same neighborhood, and she DIDN'T tell the other mother she was going.
Is that a little deceiving not informing the other mother you would be tagging along? Sherry kept away the entire time, only calling and texting her daughter periodically to check in, but she still didn't tell the other mother that she would essentially be spying on them.
At the end of the day though, any parent would do ANYTHING to protect their kids, right?
