We’ve all set something down and later forgot where we put it, right?  Maybe a pair of glasses, car keys; you know, something small like that.

Well, how about an F-35 jet?

Joint Base Charleston, a military base in North Charleston, South Carolina reached out for the public’s help in finding such a stealth fighter that went missing after the pilot ejected the aircraft following a “mishap.”

Per NBC News, after seeking the public’s assistance, jet debris was discovered in a field just north of the base, but the mystery remains of what exactly happened.

In a follow up Facebook post, the base explained that the pilot ejected from the aircraft safely, and an investigation was underway though it was “unable to provide additional details to preserve the integrity of the investigative process."
