56-year-old Robert Morris from Vermont wanted to keep a low profile. After all, he had been a wanted fugitive in New Hampshire for a while, so it would make sense for him to keep as much attention away from himself as possible.
Unfortunately, stealing a million-dollar yacht probably wasn't the best way to go about keeping things quiet.
Morris stole the yacht, worth $1.3 million, from a marina in upstate New York on Lake Champlain, toiling around for a couple of days all the way to Vermont before a border patrol helicopter spotted him.
During online court on Wednesday, Morris claimed he was just "testing" the boat out after fixing it for the owner, but the police found five different sets of boat keys on the yacht that had ALL been stolen from the same marina.
And just for good measure, Morris made sure to flip everyone off at the end of his hearing!
According to WCAX, Morris now faces felony charges of grand larceny, as he crossed state lines in the stolen yacht.
