Growing up the method to good, clean hair was always "wash, rinse, and repeat." However, apparently there's a component to luscious locks that we've all been missing this entire time: beer!
There are many claims on the internet that washing your hair with beer actually makes it softer, shinier, and healthier overall.
Though Healthline.com says there is no scientific evidence to support these claims, a writer for Thrillist washed their hair with beer for a week and said their hair looked and felt healthier!
If you want to try it for yourself, open and beer and let it go flat as the carbon dioxide in the bubbles creates "hard water," which is bad for your hair.
Wash and condition your hair like normal, and then massage the beer into your scalp, letting it rest for a few minutes (anywhere from 3 to 15) while it works its magic. Then rinse it out, and be on your merry way.
One stylist recommended filling a spray bottle with flat beer, spritzing your hair with it, and NOT washing it out, as they claim it's better as a leave-in conditioner.
You would have to explain to your boss why you smell like a frat party at 9 a.m., so proceed with that method at your own peril!
