It sounds hard to believe, but this Sunday April 16 would have been Selena's 52nd birthday.
Even though she was taken from us way too soon, there will be plenty of celebrations and festivities around North Texas honoring her.

ADDISON AFTER DARK: FIESTA NOCHE
It's a free event at Addison Circle Park, and will feature the Latin band Canta Rhythm and Brass, Samba dancing with United Dance Academy, a vendors market, and plenty of food and drinks available from food trucks.
SELENA MOVIE PARTY
There will be screenings of the 1997 movie Selena at various Alamo Drafthouse locations across North Texas.
Alamo Drafthouse encourages fans to "get ready to sing along, dance, use your free movie props and yell out, 'Anything for Salinas.'"
SELENA DAY — SELENA'S 52ND BIRTHDAY
Selena will be screened Sunday, April 16th at 6 p.m. on the Discovery District's giant media wall, and following the film the tribute band Selena Forever takes the stage, where in between sets, a Selena costume contest will occur where contests vie for $500 Jaxon Beer Garden gift card.
SELENA DAY WITH BIDI BIDI BANDA
Enjoy a free concert at Legacy Hall in Plano from Bidi Bidi Banda, from Austin. Plenty of food and cocktails will be available from the hall's 20-plus restaurants and bars!
SELENA'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION MARKET
Head to the ArtPark at Trinity Groves for a free event featuring a Selena marketplace with from more than 30 local vendors and artisans, and enjoy a Selena paint party, Selena-themed cocktails, dance lessons, music and a costume contest!
ROOFTOP MOVIE: 'SELENA'
Another opportunity to watch Selena, this event at the Sundown at Granada overlooking Greenville Ave. The screening is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
