Our Dr. Miles Intervention of the Day involves a practice becoming more common with high school graduates these days: the gap year.

He has graduated high school, and wants to take a gap year before going on to college. Unfortunately, his dad wants him to enroll in the fall, and has threatened to cut him off if he proceeds with gap year.
So, our question for you, the KLUV family...Who gets to decide on the gap year, the parent...or the kid?
If the kid will enroll, and complete school after taking one year off what's the harm? Or should the kid honor the parents wishes and not chance harming their education by taking a gap year?
