A woman in New Zealand was starting to get angry with her husband Matt who wasn't responding to her texts while he was out on a boys trip.
Well, it turns out he had a pretty valid excuse, as he reportedly passed away in a tragic accident while out on the trip.
Bonnie Caldwell took to TikTok with her sad tale, although she was able to show off the dark side of her humor by captioning the video, "I mean he could have at least given me a heads up," adding the "eye-roll" emoji.
Per The New York Post, Caldwell first grew suspicious when her husband wasn't responding to her texts in the morning, but she chalked it up to him being hungover. However, after several hours of not hearing from him, and knowing that he should've been on his way home as his hotel checkout time was 10 a.m., she started to grow more concerned.
She got a text from Matt's younger brother who told her to come to their family's home immediately, where she was informed that her husband tragically passed away after falling down an embankment near his hotel.
However, Bonnie did say that she and Matt shared a "dark" sense of humor, which has been a great coping mechanism for her.
One person who shares in Bonnie's affinity for dark humor commented on her video, "Sorry for your loss, but I still can't forgive him for ghosting you!"
