It's always been said that dogs have an innate ability to read humans and determine if they are a good person or not.

So what does that say about this woman who recently canceled a date with her boyfriend over a situation involving his dog?

Apparently, the 25-year-old woman was going to her 31-year-old boyfriend's, whom she described in a Reddit AITA post as "really funny (a bit too sarcastic though)," house to cook and meet his dog for the first time when the relationship hit a fork in the road.

When she arrived, she noted that his dog was "moving in a funny way."  That's when the boyfriend, "Michael," made the comment that the dog was telling him something about the woman, and that the dog thought she was "UGLY."

As you can imagine, this comment did not go over well, especially since the woman explained that she had always struggled with self-esteem, and was "no stranger to the word 'ugly.'"

The couple had an argument, and the woman left his house early, canceling the date.

Now, she's wondering if she was in the wrong.

Like she said earlier, her boyfriend is "really funny," albeit a "bit too sarcastic," so maybe he was just joking when he tried to explain that "his dog is 'like that' with 'some' people and that I shouldn't get offended over an 'animal's behavior.'"

She went to her family for advice, and her sister said she "messed things up" with her stupidity, and should have just "laughed it off."

According to The Independent, Reddit commenters were quick to support the woman for leaving her boyfriend's apartment and canceling the date.

One person wrote, "So, wait a minute. He's continuing to blame his dog for insulting you and is sticking to his story that his dog (not him) thinks you're ugly?  This guy is...just...yikes. I, personally, wouldn't marry someone who communicates by "translating" his dog's mean-spirited thoughts. That's a whole different level of passive aggressiveness. Wow."  "

Another added, "Really!! This guy is either certifiably insane or he's lying out his ass. A dog doesn't tell you someone is ugly. A dog repeats learned behaviors you've essentially trained them to do."

Another wrote, "Umm he thinks the dog is talking to him. Is it much of a loss? My cat just told me he sounds crazy."
