Plenty of folks get divorced for a myriad of petty reasons. This is up there with the pettiest.
A woman on Reddit asked if she was in the wrong for filing for divorce from her husband because he kept screwing on the lids of their jars too tight!
Hey, better a job than a neighbor, right?
The woman explained that when her husband wasn’t home, she would have to open new jars of whatever food she wanted because the already-opened jars had lids too tight to open.
The boiling point came when she found jars that had never been opened before being too tight to turn, which means to her that her husband was tightening the jars with something on purpose.
When her husband was out of town, the woman had a neighbor try to pry open her jars for her, and even he couldn’t get some of them open; he even broke a jar of figs because the lid was too tight.
The woman’s husband said he was “blindsided” by the divorce, since the couple had seemingly no other issues other than the jars.
He even suggested counseling, but the woman refused stating, “There is no point. I just literally can't get past the damned jar lids . . . he still won't even admit that he did it on purpose . . . he has given me no reason."
