Our Dr. Miles Intervention this morning involves a woman Lacey who is all set to get married next June. However, she is already having some trouble with her future in-laws.
Apparently, her future mother-in-law is INSISTING that Lacey wear the wedding dress she wore during her wedding in 1988. Of course, Lacey has a lot of issues with this offer.
First, isn't it every future bride's dream to go out and pick her own dress? We're sure Lacey would want that experience for herself. And second, Lacy does NOT think the dress is pretty at all.
Her mother-in-law got married in 1988, and the dress is definitely a sign of the times. It's got poofy shoulders, lace everywhere, and is just not something lacy would consider wearing. At all. But her future mother-in-law is insisting.
And lastly, she can only picture the dress laying on the floor while her future in-laws...consummated the marriage, and she has no desire to think of that throughout her wedding.
How can she politely say "no?"
