A 28-year-old woman in South Carolina was one of the folks who decided to hoard a ton of gasoline during the short gas crisis the East coast experienced last week.
Jessica Dale Patterson had multiple plastic canisters of gasoline in the back of her 2007 Pontiac G6, though something else caught the attention of Pickens County sheriffs...her plates. Which had been reported stolen.
Patterson panicked when she saw the police, and tried to flee the scene. She started to lead the officers on a high-speed chase and unfortunately, she ran off the road and FLIPPED her car!
Because of the multiple canisters of gasoline in the back, the car caught fire, and witnesses say "multiple explosions were heard inside," according to The State.
Patterson was able to escape the vehicle, but was badly burned in the explosion and fire.
Authorities were able to put out the flames and get Patterson to a hospital. She was left badly burned, but will survive.
It is unclear right now what charges the 28-year-old will be facing.
