Lauren Kempton is a woman from England who really makes potential suitors do their homework before they can take her out on a date.
And we mean that literally, as Kempton makes men submit a 500-word essay before they are allowed to date her!

She revealed her dating strategy after a string of bad dates left her hopeless for love, explaining in a videoposted to TikTok, “Asking for an essay is definitely a good way of weeding out what you don’t want. It shows you who they are and that they have read your profile and understand your humor.”
While the essay was meant to be taken as a joke, Kempton says many men have taken the task seriously, and one even submitted a PowerPoint presentation! “People might think asking for an essay was full on of me, but it was really a bit of fun; I didn’t expect someone to make so much effort,” she said.

Relationship therapist Jaime Bronstein believes that Kempton’s strategy isn’t necessarily a bad one.
She told the New York Post, “The challenge is always, “How can I make myself stand out and show that I’m special?’ Asking for a 500-word essay is certainly a way to achieve that.
“In life you need to be bold and unique to get what you want. Kempton is simply asking the men to step up to the plate and show her some effort.”
