Anyone who has been looking to purchase a home in North Texas knows just how difficult it can be.  The houses you like you can’t afford, and the houses you can’t afford aren’t in the location you had in mind.

The Texas-based company ICON feels they have a solution to this housing dilemma and are nearing completion on the world’s first completely 3D-printed neighborhood.

Just 30 miles away from Austin in Georgetown, TX, ICON is putting the finishing touches on Wolf Ranch, which consists of 100 3D-printed homes.

According to the Dallas Morning News, ICON says that 3D-printed homes take less time to build, are less expensive, required fewer workers, and minimizes construction material waste.

The homes are single-story, range from three to four bedrooms, and take about three weeks to finish printing with the foundation and metal roofs installed in a traditional manner.

The homes range in price from around $450,000 to $600,000.  ICON says that a little more than a quarter of the 100 homes have been sold.
