Several fans and celebrities have spoken out in support of an end to Spears’ conservatorship, believing she should have the freedom to make her own life decisions.
Many of those closest to Britney have also spoken out in support, including ex, Kevin Federline, who is supportive of her freedom, but has concerns about her conservatorship being terminated without professional evaluation.
Federline’s divorce lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, recently expressed Federline’s concerns, mostly rooted around concern for the couple’s children Sean Preston (15) and Jayden James (14).
"I’ve seen it reported that Britney wants [the conservatorship] terminated without any expert evaluation," Kaplan told Page Six. "One thing that I can imagine will engender a further dialogue should it be terminated is that I know she had revealed in the statement she made that she had been put on lithium, and I think, as you can imagine, lithium is regarded as a very powerful psychotropic medication.”
Spears and Federline wed in 2004 and divorced after 3 years of marriage.
"I have to hope that if some medical professional prescribed that for her that there was some condition or basis for that to be deemed an appropriate medical protocol,” he said. “So, if the conservatorship were to end and even more so to be terminated without an exit evaluation, I’m sure that Kevin would at least want to know what the conditions were that gave rise to her being prescribed that, and Kevin would probably have to engender some dialogue along those lines at some point in time if that were to occur."
After her court appearance, Spears traveled to Hawaii with boyfriend, Asghari, for a vacation focused on prioritizing her mental and physical health.
Spears shared during her hearing that she has hopes to marry Ashgari, who she has been dating since 2016, and dreams of having a child with him, which has been restricted under her conservatorship by her decision makers not allowing Spears to have her IUD removed.
During conservatorship hearing, Britney Spears says, ‘I'm traumatized. I'm not happy, I can't sleep’

"I have an [IUD] in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby, and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out," she claimed. "I feel ganged up on. I feel bullied, and I feel left out and alone,” she stated. “I've told the world I'm happy and OK.” But she explained that in reality, “I'm traumatized. I'm not happy, I can't sleep.”
