VALLEY PARK, Mo (KMOX) - A Missouri restaurant was the recipient of a very generous tip this weekend and a picture of the receipt is going viral.

A group of regulars at JJ Twigs Pizza in St. Louis left a tip to show support for employees after watching the Kansas City Chiefs victory there Sunday night.

Owner Mike Gauvain says it was a huge surprise for him.

At first he thought it was a $220 tip, but looked again and realized it was for more than $2,000.

He shared a photo of the receipt on Instagram saying, "So grateful for our loyal customers and being able to keep our doors open through these times. Thank you all! See you again soon! "⁣

The customers wrote "best pizza & best service" and "COVID sucks tip" on the bill.

"We divided it amongst all the employees there that night, both front of the house and back of the house," Gauvain said. "Everybody was so grateful."

Gauvain also said he's is grateful for the understanding about the struggles his workers are facing during the pandemic.
