"The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it,” Leto said in a statement, "which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, 'It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.’

"We are so excited to get back out on the road and to come see you in so many amazing places all over the world... It's been too long. We miss you. We love you," the band said on Instagram announcing the tour.

After he completed the climb, Leto appeared on the Today show, saying. ""I made it. I’m alive. I made it to the top, and I was just saying, I saw my mother in the window of the 80th floor, that was a nice surprise. My mom came to visit."

"It was in celebration of the tour and, you know, doing those things that you aspire to do," Leto said, adding the climb was "incredible" but "challenging," while showing off a cut and bloody fingers.
