On Monday Democratic Representative Joaquin Castro of Texas tweeted out a list of people who donated to Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
Specifically, Castro – who is also the campaign chairman for his brother, Democratic Presidential candidate Julian Castro – tweeted out the names of 44 San Antonio-based donors who contributed the maximum amount under federal law to Trump so far this year.
Castro wrote: “Sad to see so many San Antonioans as of 2019 maximum donors to Trump,” adding that “Their contributions are fueling a campaign of hate.”
Criticism immediately arose around the tweet, from both sides of the political spectrum, with many labeling it doxing – which is a practice of exposing the personal information of people with whom you disagree, so as to call an internet mob upon.
Well, that’s exactly what has happened, as one of our own in the Entercom Radio family was on that list of donors.
We’re not telling you their name so as not to contribute to the horrific ordeal they’ve already undergone. But in the days since this person’s name was posted by Castro online, they and their family has been at the receiving end of some pretty scary threats.
