Biden Confident About SC

As the Democratic primary race ramps up, more candidates are turning their attention to South Carolina.

Earlier this week Presidential candidate Joe Biden came out with a confident statement when it came to his chances in the Palmetto State.

Biden said, in no uncertain terms, that if he is nominated to head the Democratic ticket, he would beat Trump in Texas, Georgia, and last but not least, South Carolina.

That’s a bold statement, though, given that Trump beat Hillary Clinton by a whopping 15 points in South Carolina last election.

And Biden’s not the only one predicting success here.

Beto O’Rourke, Pete Buttegieg, Elizabeth Warren and Corey Booker are all bullish on their chances in the Palmetto State, with Booker giving his economic message to reporters in South Carolina over the weekend.

“Well, we have a great state here,” Booker said, “and I look forward to being a president that works to support the economic empowerment of the state, the infrastructure of the state, public education, elevating salaries. We together, especially with a president that loves this state, has been a part of this state since he was a child… South Carolina can thrive for everyone, and I look forward to being that kind of leader that is that kind of partner with leaders here.”

Even still, history isn’t on the side of the Democrats, as the party has not carried South Carolina since 1976.
