Two children are dead after they were hit while riding bicycles in the Upstate, Sunday. The collision happened just before 12:30PM on Asheville Highway near Brock Street, near Spartanburg.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says, the driver of a Honda sedan ran off the road and hit two kids who were riding bicycles on the sidewalk . 12-year-old Dereon James Robins and 9-year-old Mikhail-Lee Smith were injured and taken to a hospital, where they both died of the injuries, Sunday afternoon
The driver of the Honda, Eri Otoniel Roblero-Perez has been arrested and charged with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death, driving without a license and open container. Perez is being held in Spartanburg County.
