Clemson Grads on Shark Tank

Three Clemson grads – Logan LaMance, Teddy Giard, and Austin Maxwell – realized when they were tailgating at Clemson games that the hassle of lugging around a traditional cooler to keep beers frosty is somewhat of a hassle.

So to fix that problem, they invented the Kanga Kase Mate, and now their product – which began as a class project at Clemson – has appeared on ABC’s hit TV show Shark Tank.

The product is essentially a koozie for an entire case of beer – with one key difference being the material. Kase Mates are made from insulated soft padded material that its creators say will keep a case of beer chilly for up to seven hours.

As they demonstrated on Shark Tank, the cases come in three sizes – one that fits a 12-pack, a 24-pack or a 30-pack – and all you have to do is slide the case in, cardboard and all.

Simply open up a flap and take out your beer before Velcro-ing it shut again.

The pitch impressed billionaire Mark Cuban, who invested $100,000 in the project.
