With South Carolina top-of-mind in the 2020 primary, the crowded field of Democratic Presidential hopefuls are converging on the Palmetto State, including the Upstate.

Vermont presidential hopeful, Senator Bernie Sanders, is coming to the area beginning Thursday. He will be at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Spartanburg for a town hall meeting hosted by the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus.  Then on Friday, Sanders will be at the Peace Center for a campaign rally in Greenville. He, like the dozen-plus others running are looking to win the Democratic Party nomination for president.

Elizabeth Warren
was in Greenville back in February and has been making appearances all over the state.  Washington’s Governor Jay Inslee, a name most probably never heard of at this point, was recently in Spartanburg to push his agenda on climate.  He also toured Furman University's solar farm.  Beto O’Rourke was in Clemson for a rally over the weekend and Pete Buttigieg already made a stop in Greenville, both to standing room only crowds.

Senator Cory Booker made a campaign stop in Simpsonville while Senator Kamala Harris will be in Rock Hill on Friday and Orangeburg on Saturday.  California Congressman Eric Swalwell, also running for president, was in Greenville's West End for a town hall.

At least 11 Democratic candidates for president have already come to South Carolina this year. The Democratic visits are likely to ramp up, too, as our state holds the fourth primary in the country, before the ever important Super Tuesday which is often the deciding factor in who will win the party’s nomination.
