The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with voluntary manslaughter after Deputies say he strangled a man at a Pickens home early Thursday morning.
Deputies were called regarding a domestic disturbance on Pauls Road around 12:30 a.m. where two men were fighting. When deputies arrived on the scene, a woman told them her son had come to their home and began an arguement, which escalated into a fight.
However, after calling deputies, she then told deputies she found her 61-year-old husband unresponsive in their bedroom. The man was later pronounced dead on the scene.
Deputies questioned the woman and the son, 46-year-old Richard Scott Hinds of Greenville.
Following an autopsy, the Sheriff's Office charged Hinds with voluntary manslaughter.
