They are planning a ribbon cutting this morning at 10am to add four of the new vehicles, which are actually built here in the Upstate and shipped all over the country.  In fact, Clemson and Seneca's CAT bus service have been using the Proterra electric buses for some time now.

The Greenlink buses were purchased using multiple funding sources, including the Federal Transit Administration’s Low or No Emission (Low-No) Vehicle Program and an appropriation from the S.C. Department of Health & Environmental Control. Two of the vehicles were purchased with a $1 million capital infusion appropriated by the City of Greenville and leveraged with existing federal appropriations.

The Proterra Catalyst E2 electric buses are 40 feet long, can seat up to 40 people and travel up to 390 miles on a charge.  Charge time is just over 4 hours.
