Could the Palmetto State be your Treasure Island?According to the South Carolina Treasurer's website, millions of dollars are transferred to the Unclaimed Property Program each year. The unaccounted-for funds happen when companies cannot locate the rightful owners. State Treasurer Curtis Loftis says more than $158 million has been returned to South Carolinians since he took office.
Currently there is over $650 million looking to fill pockets.
