
Former Greenville Sheriff Will Lewis' Attorney has filed an appeal!

Lewis' lawyer, Rauch Wise said he mailed the appeal paperwork Friday after Lewis was convicted of misconduct of a public officer Thursday night.
Wise also reportedly filed a motion for an appeal bond hearing to try to get Lewis out of jail on bond.
The appeal was filed in South Carolina’s Supreme Court.
Lewis was given the maximum penalty of one year behind bars.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Johnny Mack Brown will continue to serve as sheriff of Greenville County until a special election is held in March of next year.
Governor Henry McMaster Friday signed an Executive Order officially vacating the office of Sheriff in Greenville County following the conviction of former Sheriff Will Lewis.
This sets into motion a series of elections to fill the vacancy under state law.
The filing period for candidates to run for the party nomination will begin at noon on November 15th and close at noon on November 23.
The primaries to select the nominee for the political parties will be held on January 7th.
A runoff if needed, would be held on January 21st.
A petition candidate would have to submit a petition of 10,000 valid signatures no later than noon on January 9th.
The special election to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the official term of office will be held on March 10th.
The regular election for Sheriff of Greenville County will then be held next November 3rd.
