The driver of a 2016 Ford Focus died in a head on collision Sunday morning.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway patrol said the crash happened around 8:15am on Highway 11 near Burnt Chimney Road, 4 miles north of the Campobello Community. A 2012 Kia Soul traveling south on Highway 11 crossed the center line hitting the Ford head on. Both drivers were entrapped and were extricated from their vehicles. The driver of the Kia was transported to the hospital with injuries.
The driver of the Ford, 73 year old Othel Wayne Pruitt, died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation in conjunction with the Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
