The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has released the cause of death for a man whose body was found at a waste processing plant on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased man was identified as 56-year-old Terry Brent Thomas.
Thomas’s body was discovered around 1 pm at the Waste Industries Piedmont Transfer Station on Estes Plant Road, according to Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler.
The coroner stated that the body had apparently been brought to the facility by a garbage truck. The body itself was found when the garbage from the trucks was being sorted.
Given that so many companies use the waste processing plan in question, however, the company says it is difficult to identify exactly where the body came from.
After an autopsy was performed on Thursday, the cause of death was identified as multiple blunt force injuries.
The coroner said the death likely occurred on Wednesday, September 25th.
Further investigation is ongoing.
