Failed the Right of Way

A fatal two car collision after a driver fails the right of way.

Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the driver of a Honda Odyssey was injured and taken to the hospital Thursday evening shortly after 5:00pm when the driver of a Subaru Legacy disregarded traffic laws at the intersection of Goodjoin Road and Motlow Creek Road 5 miles outside of Inman. 

The Subaru was headed north on Jug Factory Road when the driver failed the right of way at the intersection of Goodjoin Road and was hit. 

The driver had to be mechanically extricated from the car and was transported by EMS to the hospital.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger has identified the driver of the Subaru as Reba Jeannette Deale, 77 of Greer. 

She died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center shortly after 6:00pm Thursday.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating.
