The Greenville Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a protester from the Tanner's Big Orange protest.
There are still no charges for the man who tried to run over the protesters.
We previously reported on the protest at Tanner's Big Orange on June 8th, which followed remarks, deemed racist, by the restaurant's owner, John Allen Zeller.
On the day of the protest around 1:00 PM, a tan/grey GMC SUV turned off of Pleasantburg Drive and into the Tanner's parking lot, attempting to ram into the protesters.
One eyewitness who stepped in front of the vehicle in an attempt to protect other protesters said the driver, a white male, was smiling as he attempted to run over the protesters.
Police officers on the scene made the driver leave the scene but did not discuss his actions with him at another location.
Later, police said they were "looking for him."
On June 10th, Greenville Police Department Interim Chief Howie Thompson said the police were focused on a throrough investigation and wanted to contact everyone at the scene and obtain all video evidence.
The investigation about the man who tried to run over the protesters is still open and no charges have been brought against him.
The police have, however, brought charges against a man who threw items at the man's car as he left.
This reportedly caused damage costing approximately $2,000.
The man was identified by the video evidence used to identify the car of the man who attempted to run over protesters.
We will continue updates on the investigation into the man who tried to run over protesters and the protester who has had charges brought against him.
