The deadline to apply for free hot spots through the CARES Act has been extended.
However, orders received after the original August 3 deadline may not be fulfilled before the start of school.
The SC Legislature appropriated a portion of the federal CARES Act funding to be used to supply at least 100,000 student households across South Carolina with free internet through December 31, 2020.
