A 4 1/2 hour standoff leads to one behind bars. Officers were called to the Azalea Hill Apartment Homes in Greenville Tuesday around 2:45am with the report four masked men armed with handguns entered a womans residence.
Three of the four men complied with Officers command to leave, 27 year old Cortland Nesbit stayed inside.
The woman resident told officers an altercation had taken place earlier in the evening with Nesbit allegedly over a cell phone.
After over four hours of negotiation, Police activated K-9 Deputy Leo who found and engaged Nesbit in a bedroom.
He was arrested then taken for treatment for a minor injury he sustained.
Nesbit is charged with Interference and resisting arrest and is currently being held at the Greenville county detention center on $ 2 ,175.00 bond.
The other three suspects involved were detained and later released.
Greenville Police are still investigating.

(GREENVILLE)- One man is in custody following a 4½ hour standoff with Greenville Police earlier this morning.
Three others – two adults and one juvenile - were detained and later released for their involvement in the events leading up to the standoff.
27-year-old Cortland Nesbit is charged with Interfering with Police and Resisting Arrest.
He is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on a $2,175.00 bond.
The incident began this morning at approximately 2:43 a.m. when the GPD Communications Center (9-1-1 Dispatch) received a report that four masked men armed with handguns entered a residence at Azalea Hill Apartment Homes, located at 1600 Azalea Hill Drive in Greenville.
Officers arrived and ordered all four individuals to exit the apartment.
Three of the men complied, but Nesbit remained inside the residence despite multiple orders to vacate.
While GPD Crisis Negotiators communicated with Nesbit, a female who identified herself as the sole resident of the apartment arrived on-scene. The woman – accompanied by an adult male - described an altercation earlier in the evening between Nesbit and herself. During the dispute, Nesbit is alleged to have taken her cell phone.
For more than four hours, Nesbit refused to comply with negotiator’s requests to exit the apartment. At approximately 7:15 a.m., GPD’s SWAT team and a K-9 unit were activated to enter the apartment.
Prior to entering, the dog’s handler challenged all occupants to come out, but Nesbit, again, did not comply. K-9 “Leo” was then given a search command and during the sweep of the home, he contacted Nesbit in a bedroom.
K-9 Leo engaged Nesbit and he was arrested by officers moments later.
Nesbit was then taken to an area medical facility for treatment of a minor injury he sustained from the GPD K-9.
Officers are continuing their investigation.
